Melissa was raised in Half Moon Bay before moving to the Galt/Herald area in 1984. She and her husband, Robert, both graduated from Galt High School in 1987. She grew up in her family owned electroplating business where she learned at a young age how to run a business and handle the finances. She worked at a couple of ranches breaking horses, before joining her husband at his family rock yard business where she took over the finances. After her daughter Katie was born, she chose to work part time as an independent bookkeeper for six local businesses until joining Parker Realty full time as the office manager. Melissa is a notary public and has plans on getting her realtor license.
Melissa has been very involved with her daughters’ activities throughout the years. She has coached, managed and been the treasurer for many soccer, softball and volleyball teams during the 14 years Katie played sports. She was a member, president and treasurer of the Arcohe Parent Teacher Club for nine years, along with being a school board member for four years. Melissa was also the Herald 4-H adult treasurer and pygmy goat leader for 9 years and is now back as a swine leader. She has been a supporter of the Liberty Ranch High School where her daughter graduated in 2018 and FFA members from both high schools. Melissa’s favorite thing to do is spend time with her family, friends and dogs on the ranch.
